Definitely need to pick one of these up in the next couple of weeks for my
KitchenAid. I see they have them near Pike Place for about $90.00 – much
less than they are online. Do you have one of these +Christine Mayo?

allencrider you are offensive…a devil worshipper maybe? Evil clearly,
trying to act like your normal. You’re not.

Good point. I was thinking of making bread flour from different grains
(like that Abel+Schäfer brand). So Mil-Rite will be my gift for xmas.

PhantomAct

Yeah… I re-watched it in 720p to see what he meant by finest setting but
it still looked gritty rather than powdery… Do you know of something that
actually produces flour?

I bought one of these grain mils yesterday. After running the same cup of
rice through the mill on it’s finest setting 20 times, I still did not have
what I would call a usable flour. I have made rice flour in my Vita Mix
blender, and although even they admit it only makes a course flour, it is
much finer than what I could acheive with this attachment. I called
KitchenAid and they said I used it correctly, and to “return it to the
store, since it doesn’t fit your needs” I love my mixer though.

I own a Retsel flour mill. Expensive, but they last a lifetime. I buy wheat
in bulk, organic, for 50¢ a pound.

I bought a Uni-Ark with stone burrs, but I used it so much I injured my
shoulder joint! So then I motorized it. If I was going to do it again, I
would definitely get a Mil-Rite of a Mil-Right convertable and add my own
motor.

You can see that emmer turned into meal, rather than flour. That’s what is
wrong with those attachments.
